Originally formed in 2007 as The Artist Development Group by Fred Boenig, Bill Hurley, and Danny McCloskey The Alternate Root, became a multi-media company dedicated to the development and advancement of American Roots music and the artists, composers and producers that that comprise the format. By offering a comprehensive collection of services and expertise, and through the generous financial help of Jeff Munger and Robyn Kaleta, we have helped to define and raise awareness of American Roots format in the public sector. During our 8 years of operation we have developed The Alternate Root Magazine, Alternate Root TV, ADC Film, Songs With Vision, Americana Media Pro, and the Extended Play Sessions as vehicles to reach our company objectives.
The American Roots format is an watering hole of traditional American music that draws from elements of folk, country, bluegrass, blues, gospel, jazz, ethnic and rock musical styles. We are dedicated fans of this format and as music industry veterans we saw believe it needs to be heard....so please turn it up!
